3. Seismology, tectonics and rock mechanics > 3a. Imaging and event detection techniques

Conveners:
Andreas Fichtner (ETH Zurich)
Barbara Romanowicz (Berkeley)

Solicited Speaker: Yder Masson, Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris

Keywords: Seismic methods and data for constraining shallow and deep Earth structures. Localization of energy sources. Passive and active tomography

This session will serve as a platform for the presentation of new developments in seismic tomography that contribute to the construction of the next generation Earth models at various scales. Emphasis will be on new techniques that harness large emerging data sets, new data types, and modern computational resources. Topics include, but are not limited to, the joint inversion of complementary geophysical data sets, modeling of full waveforms, and Bayesian approaches. We welcome studies of the near surface and deep Earth, from reservoir to global scale.
